Absolutely. That's what sets us apart. Curtis and our team take the time to understand your riding experience, goals, and comfort level before recommending a horse. Whether you're a complete beginner, buying a horse for your kids, or an experienced rider looking for a specific temperament, we specialize in matching riders of all experience levels with the right horse — not just selling one.

We're one of the most family-friendly horse stables in the North Georgia mountains. Since 1996, we've helped hundreds of families — including first-time buyers — find safe, gentle horses that the whole family can enjoy. Our horses are hand-selected for calm temperaments and trail-readiness, and every horse comes with a guarantee. We're located in Blairsville, surrounded by some of the best riding country in the Southeast.

We carry a wide variety of breeds depending on what's available, but you'll commonly find Tennessee Walking Horses, Quarter Horses, Missouri Fox Trotters, Paints, and grade crosses in our inventory. We prioritize temperament, trail experience, and overall quality over breed name — the right horse is the one that fits the rider.

Yes — a large number of our buyers come from out of state, including Florida, Virginia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and beyond. We regularly send videos, schedule FaceTime calls, and coordinate visits for out-of-town buyers. We also handle all delivery logistics so your horse arrives safely, wherever you are.

We sell over 300 horses annually and have been doing so since 1996. That kind of volume means our inventory is always changing — if you don't see exactly what you're looking for today, give us a call. Curtis is constantly on the road sourcing new horses and can often find what you need within days.

For first-time buyers, the most important things are temperament, training, and trust in your seller. You want a horse that's calm, well-trained, and has real experience — not just arena time. Look for a seller who offers a guarantee, lets you ride before you buy, and takes the time to understand what you need. That's exactly what we do here at A Step Above Stables.
