General Information
A Step Above Stables has been proudly serving the North Georgia community for over 15 years. What started as a small family operation has grown into one of the region's most trusted sources for quality horses, combining generations of horsemanship experience with modern care practices.
Our farm is located in beautiful Blairsville, Georgia, in the North Georgia mountains. We're easily accessible from Atlanta (about 2 hours), Gainesville (1 hour), and the surrounding areas. We welcome visitors by appointment to tour our facility and meet our horses.
A Step Above Stables is family-owned and operated, with daily hands-on involvement in every aspect of horse care and training. Our team brings decades of combined experience in breeding, training, and horse care, and we're personally committed to matching each horse with the perfect home.

Absolutely. Every horse comes with complete health records including vaccination history, deworming schedule, and recent farrier work. We can also arrange a pre-purchase veterinary exam at the buyer's expense, and we encourage this for your peace of mind. We have nothing to hide and want you to feel confident in your purchase.
Yes! We strongly encourage multiple visits to ride and interact with any horse you're considering. You're welcome to bring your trainer or an experienced friend for their opinion. We want you to be completely comfortable and confident before making a decision. This is a big commitment, and we're here to support you through the entire process.

We're with you every step of the way to ensure a smooth transaction.
Yes! We can arrange professional horse transport throughout the Southeast and beyond. We work with trusted, licensed horse haulers who specialize in safe, comfortable transport. Delivery costs vary based on distance and are the buyer's responsibility. We can provide quotes and recommendations, or you're welcome to arrange your own transport. Local buyers within 50 miles may qualify for complimentary delivery.
We accept cash, cashier's checks, money orders, and bank wire transfers. For your security and ours, personal checks must clear before the horse leaves our property (typically 7-10 business days). A non-refundable deposit (typically 10-20%) can hold a horse while you arrange payment and transport.
We stand behind every horse we sell with honest representation. While horses are sold "as is" (which is standard in the industry), we provide accurate descriptions of temperament, training, and any known health issues. We're transparent about each horse's strengths and limitations. If we've misrepresented a horse in any way, we'll work with you to make it right. Your satisfaction and the horse's welfare are equally important to us.
Support & Resources
Absolutely! We're here for you long after your horse goes home. Feel free to call or text with questions about care, training, or any concerns. We love getting updates and staying connected with our horses and their new families. Many of our buyers become lifelong friends, and we're always happy to offer guidance or just chat about your progress together.
Yes! We've built strong relationships with excellent professionals throughout North Georgia and can provide referrals for veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and other horse-related services. We're happy to help you build your support team to ensure your horse gets the best care possible.
While we work hard to ensure proper matches, we understand that sometimes circumstances change. If you find yourself unable to keep your horse, please contact us first. We're committed to the welfare of every horse we sell and will work with you to find a solution. We may be able to take the horse back or help you find a new home. We never want to see our horses end up in bad situations, and we'll do what we can to help.
